Two world premieres at the CPHI Frankfurt trade fair: Liveo Research AG presents new One-Material Blister concepts with higher barrier protection
Basel, October 28, 2025
Swiss pharmaceutical packaging specialist Liveo Research AG is presenting two newly developed blister concepts at the CPHI Frankfurt trade fair. Since the bottom and top films of both concepts are made from a single material, they are considered One-Material Blisters (OMB™). Their advantage is that they can be easily recycled within the existing waste management systems and converted into new valuable materials at the end of the recycling process.
The first new blister concept is marketed under the name “BlisForm MP / BlisLid MP.” It provides protection against water vapor in the medium range.
The second new blister concept, “BlisBa PCP / BlisLid PCP”, even provides medium to high protection against water vapor and is available in various thicknesses.
These two new OMB™ concepts complement the OMB™ concept “BlisForm MA / BlisLid MA,” which is already being used very successfully by several pharmaceutical companies. It is suitable for drugs that require low or no protection against water vapor.
All three blister concepts are characterized by their ease of processability on different blister machines. They can typically be used there without any adjustments and are therefore considered “drop-in solutions.”
Dr. Carsten Heldmann, CEO of Liveo Research AG, explains: “We are very proud to now be adding two further new OMB™ concepts, developed and produced in-house, to our tried-and-tested single-material PET blister. This once again demonstrates our pioneering role in
the field of sustainable blister concepts. Greater sustainability in blister packaging is already possible today – Liveo Research is the innovative and experienced partner for this.”
